Bannerghatta National Park   |   Bengaluru

In the city of fast paced technological development, there’s lies a place that almost seems like a different world. The Bannerghatta National Park is a world in Bengaluru but away from Bengaluru, which is a popular tourist destination with a zoo, a pet corner, an animal rescue centre, a butterfly enclosure, an aquarium, a snake house and a safari park. The park provides an excellent space for escape into serenity with its temples, rural areas that promote cattle and sheep farming, as well as opportunities for trekking and hiking.

The Bannerghatta National Park is located about 22 kilometres south of Bengaluru and at a pleasant level of elevation, sourced by rainfall and other natural and artificial water sources. The highly sought after attractions of the national park are the safari, zoo and the elephant sanctuary.

The park has separate safaris for viewing of herbivores and carnivores, and the excursions are managed and supported by the Karnataka State Tourist Development Corporation. The biological park also has a zoo which consists of a small museum for showcasing special animals, a reptile park and a small theatre. Also, Bannerghatta is the first sanctuary that allowed the elephants complete freedom to move wherever they want without human or wildlife interference. No one visiting Bengaluru returns without a tour to Bannerghatta, for the national park is the best escape to nature that the city provides.
