Delta Beach Backwater   |   Udupi

It is rightly said, nature never did betray a soul that truly loved her. Standing true to this statement is a backwater Delta Beach close to Udupi, a heavenly abode of more than 40 islands in one place! All through its shore, the Arabian Sea manages to sketch its most beautiful backwater destination here!

A 20 minute ride from Udupi through Santhekatte will take us to this place named Kemmannu Padutonse or Kodi-bengre, a paradise like natural location that is slowly but steadily becoming a tourist attraction of the area. It lies opposite to Kodi-bengre beach, and is an incredibly large pool of backwater collected as a holding ground for equally mesmerising islands. It is an exceptional sight to watch the sea and its backwater lie opposite to each other, but more surprises await us as we take a boat ride along the 40 islands through Padutonse.

Padu Kuduru, Parangi Kuduru, Balikera Kuduru, Kukkude, Thimmana Kuduru are a few of the 40 self-sustaining islands here, and we can see more of them forming themselves. The entire backwater pool shores along largely far-located areas like Manipal, Santhekatte, Bramhavar, Uppoor, etc, places that are located kilometres away from each other but are easily accessible through this pool.

A boat ride through the backwater pool of Kemmannu Padutonse is a photographer’s heaven, a traveller’s paradise and nature lover’s dream destination! We could confidently say that this is one of the places where Coastal Karnataka comes in its best forms!
