A mesmerising sight of water falling from a height over 400 feet right in front of an infamous Veerabhadreshwara temple in Chikmaglur, is what is popularly called Kalhatti Falls. This waterfall is located 10 kilometres away from Kemmangundi hill station. The beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is said to have been built during the Vijayanagar era, and the waterfall passes right through the entrance of it. A sculpture of three elephants at the entrance of the temple stand through the force of water falling over them, and it is believed that those waters have healing powers. For all those who arrive for trekking in the area, this waterfall is an unmissable adventure located in Birur in Chikmaglur.

Also with a legacy that states that sage Agasthya lived here for long times in history, this place attracts tourists from around the state during the grand three day fair of the temple. Combined with adventurous and spiritual essence, this location has to be one of the most beautiful in the country. The location is also a well-connected junction on all major roads, and there are frequent buses to and fro the area.
