Mallalli Falls is situated in the northern region of Kodagu District, Karnataka. Mallalli falls is situated in the foothills of pushpagiri mountains, around 25 km from Somwarpet and 265 km from Bangalore. The Kumaradhara river is the main watercourse for this waterfall. It later flows through Kukke Subrahmanya and merges with the Netravati -the lifeline of Mangalore at Uppinangadi.

The Water in the falls in only during the monsoon season and there is no availability of water during the other seasons; hence it is advisable for the tourists to travel during the monsoon season to visit the Mallalli falls. The other point to be kept in mind is about the very bad conditions of the roads leading to the falls and even the 4x4 jeeps have a tough time to pass through these roads.

The best time to visit the falls is between 6 am to 6 pm; after which the area becomes dark and it is not safe for the people visiting the falls as there is no basic security provided to this place since it is out of bounds for any of the authorities to reach this location to secure and safeguard the people visiting the place.
